Gold Nugget Jewellery

We have a new hobby! Wayne made me some gold nugget earrings today and this necklace pendant. Totally unique jewellery from the Victorian Goldfields!! It's quite an involved process with 9ct gold componentry. It requires gold solder and a blowtorch and three or more hands. It's quite fiddly but looks as though it will be an enjoyable hobby and extension of gold prospecting. Who knows, may even make us some money!! This pair of earrings is .6gm nuggets and would probably sell for about $45.00 - $50.00 and the pendant is a 3gm nugget and would be priced around the $150.00 mark.

French Culture Day

Our school is having a French Culture Day today. The kids are going to cook French food, play Petenque, watch "The Smurfs" in french and make some french crafts. Here they are going into school this morning. Emily and Tash are wearing red white and blue.

Wayne's trip to Kalgoorlie

Here are some of Wayne's photos from his trip. The bus is the one that he travelled on once he arrived in Kalgoorlie. The Super pit is massive, note the small trucks in the pit. Some nice sunsets and views to give you an idea of what the area was like.

Steam Train ride to Muckleford Station

Gayle and I took the kids to Maldon to catch the steam train. It was a 30min ride each way which was just long enough for the kids. We finished up the day at the Maldon Lolly shop with yummy lollies that they make themselves.

Emily's First School Project

Emily is presenting her poster about Meerkats to her class on Wednesday. The first of many many school projects. Thanks to David for a couple of beautiful Meerkat photos.

Cross Country

Natasha and Em both did really well in the school cross country. Natasha came 6th and Emily came 11th. Em was about the middle of her field and Natasha was well up the front in hers. Tash still had time to wave to her friends as she ran to the finish line!

Emily's Night Out

Em was invited to The Fun Factory to a disco birthday party last night. You know your kids are getting older when they are going out on Friday night and you're staying at home. She looked really cute in her outfit.
