Caramelised Pork Belly with Chilli, Vinegar and Saffron rice




was what we had for dinner tonight. Wayne and I did a joint effort and it took us from 4.00pm until 7.30pm to produce this dinner. We were pretty happy with the result although there were a couple of things we would do differently if we ever made it again, which I doubt that we will. We saw it on the latest season of Masterchef when Alvin cooked it to portray the sin "Greed". It was very rich and we didn't manage to eat it all. It was fun to make though and we have a very healthy respect for the Masterchef Australia contestents that made this type of thing against a ticking clock and with judges.
