When you look at these photos remember that there is usually no water or a very small trickle in these areas. Bendigo got more rain this weekend than has ever been recorded.

Caramelised Pork Belly with Chilli, Vinegar and Saffron rice

was what we had for dinner tonight. Wayne and I did a joint effort and it took us from 4.00pm until 7.30pm to produce this dinner. We were pretty happy with the result although there were a couple of things we would do differently if we ever made it again, which I doubt that we will. We saw it on the latest season of Masterchef when Alvin cooked it to portray the sin "Greed". It was very rich and we didn't manage to eat it all. It was fun to make though and we have a very healthy respect for the Masterchef Australia contestents that made this type of thing against a ticking clock and with judges. Today was a quiet day, spent mostly at home. We did get out for a walk to Cooinda Park where they have new flash slides to play on. Here are the pics from our walk.

Pennyweight lane in Bendigo has become an open air gallery for two Bendigo Artists. Rebecca Giles and Patsy Killeen. I thought that their street art would make a fabulous backdrop for my kids.

Oceangrove

We had a lovely weekend at Oceangrove. The weather was horrible but there was still plenty to do and see. We visited the Ford Discovery Museum in Geelong and enjoyed a couple of the beaches. Here are some of the photos.

Bendigo Beef Expo 2010
